what path will you take this time?

What path will you take this time?

Before finding happiness there is finding purpose. Still, the idea of finding your purpose is no longer available in the globalized and fast changing new world. The purpose is no longer something to find, but something to create. It is a matter of a very personal design.

It is no longer the poem we’ve been tought about the purpose for a lifetime, but puzzle pieces of purpose for various phases of life and circumstances, pieces which are directly related with the intentions and choices we make, essentially, with who we are and our vision about life.

Purpose design is like painting on canvas.

Purpose design is like painting on canvas. You have a vision, an idea to express or a point to make, and then you have the skills, the tools and loads of things to learn and observe, plenty of time you must dedicate to the craft itself. In the new world it is the unknown we have to conquer and make sense of. And patience, tact and continuous learning are golden keys in this endevour.

We are challenged to create our own path and world, the realm where we can make sense of our lives, but mostly to enjoy them and ourselves more. More and more of us jump from the old systems and take the challenge of unknown because living a life almost totally dedicated to someone else’s business makes less and less sense.

We cannot trade our time and health anymore.

We cannot trade our time and health anymore. Life without a more meaningful purpose and direction is painful and debilitating. The reason that statistics are terryfing when it comes to depression and addictions of all sorts, to healthcare, to poverty and many more societal problems we all experience, one way or another.

Technology connects more and more dots and built more bridges between problems and solutions. We should start using these bridges more as instruments for redesigning our lives. They are tools no previous generation had, and for us this is unique opportunity.

Today, an article you write can go viral instantly and change your entire life. We can go up and down with the speed of light. This is a unique kind of venue. It attracts more chances than ever, but it also challenges us to be more responsible in order to secure our place in the word.

Crowdsourcing tought me a lot about the scale and unpredictable ways we can influence the world, both as seekers and solvers. Each new problem I tackled tought me something and added more meaning to my life. Despite its immediate remuneration when it is good enough to be rewarded from hundreds and even thousands, each new challenge holds the potential to lead me on a new or totally different path, at any given moment. This is something our parents could not even imagine.

Years ago, I decided to take full responsibility for who I am and to cut out complaining for good. Complaining is draining us of energy and vitality, things we can use for better things. You cannot redesign your life and complain at the same time. At some point you have to clear up your vision and fully engage towards fulfiling it or die in the attempt. But at least, you don’t waste yourself and you don’t waste your time with hesitations.

It is your vision about life that keeps you above the water at all times and it is also the one thing that shows you what to do and how when all roads seem to hit an end, when all roads seem to smash by the wall of impossibility.

All my actions serve my vision. There is no other way and no shortcuts. That became crystal clear over the years.

I decided I won’t take any job that stands in my way. If the job doesn’t hold the potential to get me closer and faster to my vision and doesn’t offer a fair enough balance between time, effort, skills and money, then it is not the right job for me and I am not the right person for the task. It became easier to endure stress and anxiety about the future than to struggle in jobs that lead me nowhere.

This is the path I take this time. A path without compromise and hesitation.

What path will you take this time?
